Uncle Sam Bike Trail

Uncle Sam Bike Trail

The Uncle Sam Trail is a 7-mile route connecting North and South Troy with waterfront views, off-road segments, and on-road bike infrastructure. The route includes 3 miles of the Uncle Sam Rail Trail, along the former line of the Troy & Boston Railroad.

In 2018, the City completed construction on a two-way cycle track in South Troy and designated shared traffic routes connecting key segments of the route.

The southernmost point, at the Troy-Menands Bridge, the route connects with the Mohawk-Hudson Bike-Hike Trail (MHBHT), part of New York’s Empire State Trail. With these improvements, the Uncle Sam Trail has become a critical aspect of recreation and transportation in the City of Troy.
